THE WORLD IS WATCHING CORVETTE.

Press reviews at home and abroad, have been outstanding. In the J.D. Power and Associates 2002 Initial Quality Study, Corvette was ranked "Best Premium Sports Car in Initial Quality" for two years in a row."(1) This all underscores owner enthusiasm that is soaring to new levels. From Detroit to Stuttgart to Le Mans, people who know are paying close attention.

The already-legendary LS1 V8 engine shared with the convertible provides 350 horsepower and low-end torque over a broad range for outstanding acceleration and fuel economy for 2003 (estimated MPG 18 city, 25 highway for four-speed automatic and 19 city, 28 highway for six-speed manual). And you may choose from an available six-speed manual transmission or a standard electronically controlled four-speed automatic. The exhilarating power of the LS1 V8 is complemented by Corvette's racing-inspired four-wheel independent suspension, variable effort Magnasteer, massive four-wheel disc brakes with ABS, Traction Control and Active Handling System — all standard.

* 1. The Chevrolet Corvette was the highest ranked Premium Sports Car in the J.D. Power and Associates 2001-2002 Initial Quality Studies(SM). 2002 Study based on a total of 64,905 consumer responses indicating owner-reported problems during the first 90 days of ownership.

LS1: A 350-HORSEPOWER WORK OF ART.
LS1 is a code name for a performance masterpiece. And you'll find it under the hood of every 2003 Corvette coupe and convertible. Specifications include an aluminum block designed for stiffness, low mass, special camshaft design for excellent engine breathing and a 10.1:1 compression ratio that helps enhance engine power. But the numbers tell the real story: engine displacement — 5.7 liters, horsepower — 350 at 5200 rpm, torque — 360 lb.-ft. at 4000 rpm with the standard four-speed automatic transmission and 375 lb.-ft. at 4400 rpm with the available six-speed manual transmission.

Technical highlights of the 350 horsepower LS1 V8 (standard in coupe and convertible) include lightweight aluminum construction, Sequential Fuel Injection with composite manifold and Electronic Throttle Control.

The LS1 is ported like an overhead cam motor. Instead of curving around the pushrod, the air follows a straight path down to the combustion chamber. Reduced air intake restriction improves flow into the heads for better breathing and enhanced performance.

Fuel economy is impressive: estimated MPG 19 city, 28 highway(1) with the optional six-speed manual transmission on coupe and convertible

Inside The 2003

(1) Memory Package

This optional feature "remembers" up to three preset positions for climate control, seat, mirrors, radio and power telescoping steering column. Great for households with more than one driver.

(2) Dual-Zone Temperature Control

Now standard in all Corvette models, dual-zone temperature control lets the driver and passenger adjust the temperature settings for maximum individual comfort.

(3) Tire Pressure Monitor

In the event the tire pressure in any of your vehicle's tires drops below 26 psi, this safety/convenience feature signals you via a message on the Driver Information Center. You can also check each individual tire's pressure to the nearest 1psi.

(4) Head-Up Display

The inspiration came directly from fighter aircraft — specifically the Air Force's F-15® Eagle. Working in conjunction with Hughes Aircraft Division, Corvette designers and engineers developed a similar Head-Up Display (HUD) for Corvette. All of the following readouts may be projected onto the windshield for driver convenience: vehicle speed, engine rpm, a performance upshift guide for the six-speed manual transmission, and readings from key gauges, including water temperature, oil pressure and fuel.

Head-Up Display is is standard in Z06 and 50th Anniversary Edition models; optional in other coupes and convertibles.

(5) AM/FM Stereo with CD Player

This audio system includes an Electronically Tuned Receiver (ETR) AM/FM stereo with cassette player, seek-scan, six-speaker Bose sound system, digital clock, automatic volume control and TheftLock. Auto tone control allows you to select from six equalization settings and tailor the sound to the music or voice being heard. Standard in all Corvette models

(6) Sport Bucket Seats

Sport bucket seats with leather seating surfaces, inflatable lumbar support and adjustable side bolsters are standard in coupe and convertible models (not available in Z06).

Color choices are Black, Light Gray (shown), Light Oak and a very brilliant Torch Red.

Six-Way Power Seat Control

For optimal driving comfort, six-way power driver and passenger seats are standard in coupe and convertible. A six-way power driver seat is standard in Z06

And Outside The 2003

(7) Electrochromic Rearview Mirrors

When the electrochromic mirrors are ordered, the outside driver mirror and inside rearview mirror automatically dim to reduce headlamp glare from other vehicles at night.

(8) Removable Roof Panels

A lightweight, one-piece removable roof panel is standard on Corvette coupe. Latches are easy to use and no special tools are required to remove the roof panel. Choose from a standard body color panel, an optional transparent roof panel or both.
